Annette Klein, German General Consul, will introduce the poster exhibition on “Women in STEM“ globally with a talk on gender disparities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, a field where women account for less than a third of researchers. On loan from the German Consulate, the exhibition presents the portraits of 24 global pioneering women scientists and engineers whose life and work has played a central role in science, but has remained largely unknown.

The Women's and Gender studies Center is planning this great event to be part of Diversity week each year where we acknowledge 100 women from different fields at FIU to profile, celebrate, and champion. We will introduce them, tell their stories, and create an inspiring culture of diversity, accomplishment, collectivism, and collegiality.
